Schizophrenia is a disorder that is often characterized by severe delusions, hallucinations, odd behavior, disorganized speech, and what are referred to as "negative" symptoms. Negative symptoms include a lack of emotion and a lack of desire for social interaction.

No one person with schizophrenia behaves in the same way. Each person affected has a different combination of symptoms and behaviors.
