Gene Deletion Tied to Prostate Cancer Onset, Problems After Prostate Cancer Therapy

"Loss of a tumor suppresser gene called Rb may be the first step in the development of prostate cancer, according to findings from experiments in mice."

"Urinary, bowel, and sexual problems arising from surgery or external radiation treatment for localized prostate cancer persist for at least five years, a new study from the National Cancer Institute shows."
