Lots of dog lovers are worried these days. Experts say the flu is spreading steadily through the nation's dogs, with no vaccine available to curb it. Perhaps 5 percent of its victims are dying. (Washington Post)

A strain of flu virus that jumped from horses to dogs has caused sometimes deadly respiratory infections at dog tracks and kennels in at least 11 states and among some household pets as well, health officials reported yesterday. (Washington Post)
