Bird Flu in Italy and Greece

The European Union has recorded its first cases of bird flu, with tests confirming that the deadly H5N1 virus has been detected in swans in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria.

Italy's Health Minister Francesco Storace said the pathogen was found in swans in three southern Italian regions - Puglia and Calabria and Sicily. (theage.com.au)
