more on time

I was wondering about Mae and time too. I was wondering if she just doesn't see calenders or things with dates on them. For instance the posts here are dated and she has posted here before, right? Perhaps it's a preconditioned response to not look at calendars or dates on things.--Judy

Well...actually... hm. Never even noticed that the posts here are dated, actually. So I doubt that Mae has noticed it either.
*bonk on head*
--duh--
None of us actually ever looks at calendars, dates, or times much.
We have clocks all over our house-- in every room. In fact for many years we had THREE clocks on the dresser beside my bed. Trying to hold onto time for lots of different reasons. Because time skips around so much... and moves around at different rates... and sometimes stands still and sometimes skips ahead... time has just been too complicated. Its always been this way ever since I was little.
Some of us wear a watch. Some of us refuse to. Some of us check the clocks all the time. Some of us dont even know how to tell time. Some of us can't ever remember what day it is. It just varies on who's fronting and what's important to them.

You know, here I ask about Mae and time and I have some of the same issues 'you all' do with time.
I have to ask someone the date almost everytime I write a check anywhere. I usually know the day of the week, but not always, not all day.

We have 3 clocks in our master bedroom, mine's right on time, Franks 2 are at different times both set fast. His that is 10 min fast is the easiest to see from about the room or in the master bath so I usually reference it, only looking at mine from bed. (Sleep studies show it improves sleep to NOT have a clock you can see from bed, but I can't stand to not have a clock there so...) In the family room/kitchen area we have 3 clocks, the cable box (the one we see most), the oven, and a clock actually placed on a wall as a decorative and useful item but it's often the last we look at.

When I was working as a CPA I had to record my billable time for clients all day every day in 10th of an hour increments (that's 6min pieces); I always had a watch on and I always had my watch exactly on time. When I would come home, the watch came off, like lifting a chain from around my neck. And weekends, no way, no watch.

Now that I'm not working, if I'm going out, usually to the doc or a store, I wear a watch right on time so I can see how long they keep me waiting (they usually don't have clocks for us to see or they're fast). Again as soon as I'm home the watch comes off....I must add that during my time as aan Avon rep I gathered some cute bracelet'y fun watches and so I enjoy them when they're on, they're not a chain anymore.

Glad to see you here Pilgrim, wishing you a restful good weekend!!!

Hugs and Blessings, Judy
